Arrowhead & Taconite Trails

The 135 mile Arrowhead Trail runs from Tower all the way up to International falls. The trail was developed primarily for winter use so large sections are impassable in the summer months, however 69 miles of the trail are suitable for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Please call the nearest Parks and Trails office to learn about the trail and conditions of that area. The Arrowhead Trail connects with the 165 mile Taconite trail which runs from Grand Rapids to Ely, this paved trail is great for hiking, biking and in-line skating in the summer months and snowmobiling in the winter.
